Each offers a piece of advice: the mountain lion tells him to retrace his steps, the moose tells him to listen to his heart, the wise owl tells him he is not alone, all are watching out for him. With each piece of advice, Baby Bear slowly gains courage and confidence to find his way home.
A lovely, simple tale about believing in one's self and truly feeling at home, Baby Bear is filled with vivid, softly brushed oil paintings of animals in nature. Even the most intimidating animals, like the mountain lion and the moose, look very gentle and reassuring. I especially love the close-up scene of Baby Bear's eyes looking at the moon and thinking of home. A perfect book to snuggle up to at bedtime!
