Book Review: Goldie and the Three Bears- Diane Stanley

Most people know the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. A little girl wanders into an empty house, eats some porridge, falls asleep and waken by a bear family ( Mama, Papa, and Baby.) In Goldie and the Three Bears, we meet a Goldie who knows what she likes ( peanut butter sandwich with no jelly and bears) and what she doesn't ( hats that are too big and shoes that are too tight) Goldie is even particular about finding a friend because she wants one she could love with all heart. But one day, she gets off the school bus at the wrong stop, enters an empty house... and you'll be surprised on what happens next.

This is a cute, updated take on a story everyone knows so well. The Goldilocks character in this book is quite a delight as are the bears ( Baby Bear is a little girl, aww. ) The ending is really cute and sweet.
